My handpan offer

You can find the current handpan group workshop dates above. Furthermore, the first regular offline group lesson is planned for fall 2025 in Funchal/Madeira (PT) for all graduates of the beginner's workshop who would like to continue learning. If you are interested, send me an email. These course formats are intended for absolute beginners and those interested in getting to know the instrument and its effects for themselves and who do not yet have their own instrument. The workshop costs start at €49, including all instruments and course materials, for the "get supported" or "super early bird" ticket. The regular price is €69; a supporter ticket costs €89 and enables support for others who cannot afford the regular price. Group lessons will cost approximately €100/month (€140 with a rental instrument). The courses will be held in English (unless otherwise stated) and translated into German if necessary. Please bring your own snacks and drinks. The workshops in the southwest of the Madeira (PT) take place in any weather, either outdoors or indoors. Please bring a change of clothes for both (sunglasses/sunscreen/jacket!), as the sun can shine brightly or there may be unexpected winds. Register here!
In irregular open handpan circles, you can currently get to know me without obligation and try out my instruments for free, ask any questions, and see if you'd like to learn to play the handpan. I also offer private lessons (single lesson €60, 2 hours/month €110, 4 hours/month €200, ten-lesson pass €400). The first handpan retreat is planned for late 2025/early 2026, and later there will also be guest workshops and concerts on the island by handpan artists such as Kabeçao, Kirill Osherov, Marcel Hutter, and Daniele Rebaudo, among others. In 2026, I'm planning the first international handpan gathering on Madeira island (PT) with artists and makers from all over the world, which should start by 2027 at the latest. In August 2025, I'll first discover the first Sound Sculpture Handpan Festival in Germany, where I'll learn from international artists such as Mar Loi, Alexandre Lora, Leander Kreitemann, Alexander Mercks, and others. Longer term, I'm also considering a showroom and my own workshop center in or around Funchal, which I'd like to crowdfund, just like the festival. Follow the WhatsApp group for all current and future handpan events on Madeira, as well as inspiration from me and other artists.
The absolute beginners' course will focus on striking techniques, first rhythms and melodies, and other exercises to build up your playing skills as essential components of the workshop. After the workshop, you have the opportunity to rent a handpan to continue to implement what you have learned at home and to develop your independent playing. When you buy your handpan (starting at 999€) from me you get your first 1:1 lesson for free (also if you recommend me to anyone buying an instrument). Rentals start at 95€ and up to two rental fees will be 100% offset against the purchase price. Handpans will be provided for all beginners courses, workshops & retreats. You will also have the opportunity to discover other manufacturers, tunes and scales and try them out. Participation in the workshop is only possible with registration. These handpans are sold by my partner Sound Sculpture Germany and used in the workshops. You can rent and buy them from me; other models from manufacturers such as MAG, Teana, Ugur, Panstream, Noblet, Leaf, Nala, halo, Tiznajo, Yishama, Satya Sound Sculptures and others are available and can be tried out depending on availability. The entire Sound Sculpture product range can be ordered through me; you can then try it out here on site and then decide whether you want to rent or buy a handpan. Bags from HardCase Technologies, stands, care products, wall mounts, macrame bands and others are also available from me. If you need online course material or printed teaching material to continue practicing at home, I can recommend something. For example, MasterTheHandpan and Handpan Dojo, which have just merged, are the best addresses for on-demand online courses for self-study.
Sales and invoicing are carried out by Sound Sculpture Mainz, which also provides the guarantee. A free retuning service is available through the partner in Germany. You can exchange the handpan for another handpan once within 14 days without giving a reason (assuming it is intact). All handpans are sold with a small welcome set consisting of brief information, a cleaning cloth, care oil, flyer and sticker. You can try out all handpans in stock or ordered through me on site. When you buy a handpan, your first lesson worth €60 is free. Some handpans are offered with a bag, but you can also buy a bag, stand or wall mount at any time. Some accessories are discounted when you buy a handpan (e.g. stands).

A lesson unit lasts a maximum of 60 minutes, from the agreed start time to the end time (e.g. 1pm to 2pm). If you are late, that is your own responsibility. Cancellations are only possible free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the lesson, after which the agreed course unit will be charged as booked. The costs must be paid before the start of the respective lesson (payment in advance) and are non-refundable. It is possible to offset/rebook against other services in my portfolio. After the booked period has expired, any remaining hours expire. So if, for example, you have booked four hours per month but only redeem three of them, the remaining hour expires. Any cancellations on my part are exempt from this. The monthly rates are booked as a subscription with automatic renewal, i.e. the respective amount is due per month/quarter/(half)year without a new invoice being issued, unless canceled by the last day of the month. If payment has not been received 48 hours before the first regular lesson, the subscription and thus the lesson agreement will end automatically. The package prices/multiple tickets are valid for a period of 365 calendar days and then expire automatically unless they are redeemed or actively extended. The annual ticket includes a maximum of 100 hours per year, open/remaining hours cannot be carried over to the following year. You are responsible for tracking and redeeming the number of hours you have. All prices apply to lessons online (ZOOM) and offline on site in my premises, travel to your home will be charged separately if necessary. Both can be combined (blended learning). Any course material is not included in the prices and must be obtained by yourself. Recordings of your own online lessons are available for an additional charge (plus half the hourly rate).
