Handpan Music

I create intuitive ancient trance sounds on my handpan that will allow you to fall into dreams at your spiritual event or private concert. I also go live on Instagram from time to time and post videos in my new YouTube channel. Make sure to visit me on a live event.

Handpan Lessons

I have been playing drums, percussion and handpan for over 25 years now and I would like to pass on this passion and sense of rhythm to the next generation. So if you feel like getting into the groove with me, get in touch and we will make it happen.

Sound Healings

With various percussion, melody and sound instruments such as the Ocean Drum, Kalimba, Handpan or singing bowl, I support you on your path to inner healing with sound healings in online/offline events, retreats, workshops and healing circles.

I currently offer private lessons (single lesson €50, 2 hours/month €95, 4 hours/month €180, 10 times 400€) as well as private workshops and sound healings on request. A local beginner workshop starts at 100€ per person, a sound healing at 150€.

My lessons will focus on striking & playing techniques, rhythms, chords and melodies, as well as coordination, improvisation and group exercises for beginners and advanced players. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an e-mail or use the contact form below.

Being honest with yourself doesn’t mean finding balance.

It means facing the reality that some parts of your life simply don’t belong together.

And deep down, you already know.

What your heart is beating for is not your job.
Not the money.
Not the title.

It’s the thing you keep pushing to the side because it feels less “secure”.

And so you try to balance both worlds.

But what if this balance is the actual illusion?

I’ve lived that way for years.

Trying to hold it all together.
Improving.
Practicing.
Waiting for the “right moment”.

But slowly, it turned into something else:

Self-betrayal.

I chose what felt predictable.
And paid the price by losing connection to myself.

That’s the part no one talks about.

At some point, it’s no longer about courage.
It’s about honesty.

Because you can only split your energy for so long before something in you goes quiet.

If you feel that…

you don’t need more motivation.

You need clarity.

And maybe someone who has already walked through that exact space with you.

What you see: Music. Sound. Silence. Touch.

What you don't see: The empty refrigerator. The tears before and afterwards. The years I have spent going through what I now hold in sound.

Sound healing is not a performance.
It is a transmission of emotions.

What resonates in these spaces is my own pain, my own processes, my own learning to bear this pain.

Those who receive healing are not receiving a service.

They are receiving someone who has walked their own path through darkness, and has learned to transform it into sound.

This is the part I look at daily as a trauma healer.
In myself. And my clients.

Next time you go to a sound healing or request one, consider it as a priceless medicine for your soul.

And never forget the high price sound healers once had to pay themselves. This is why they can channel this.

Weißt du noch, wer du warst, bevor du jemand sein musstest?

Diese Frage hat mich lange begleitet. Und sie begleitet auch @hendrikbaumhoefener, der sie irgendwann in Trauma-Popmusik verwandelt hat. Und ich dann später für mein @justfuckinbeurself Podcast-Intro einsang.

Ich hab gerade dieses Reel hier gemacht, weil ich ihm persönlich danken wollte. Dafür, dass er mich mehr als einmal daran erinnert hat, wer ich wirklich bin – in dunklen Momenten, wo ich es selbst vergessen hatte.

Wir beide kennen das: den Weg, der erstmal woanders hingegangen ist. Die vielen Jahre, wo das, was wirklich in einem brennt, hinten angestellt wurde. Für Familie. Für Sicherheit. Für das, was man um zu (über-)leben halt so macht.

Und irgendwann kam die leise Frage:
"War das wirklich ich?"

Dieses Reel ist eine Erinnerung daran.

Für ihn. Für mich. Und vielleicht auch für dich.

"I came to Madeira with a vision"

But there was also a time I (almost) didn’t show up.

Even when everything was already there.
The invitation.
The people.
The opportunity.

I still felt like I wasn’t ready.

But when I came to Madeira, I had a vision.
To play.
To create spaces.
To bring people together through sound.

But having a vision and living it are two very different things.

Because the moment it becomes real…you are seen.

And that’s where most people stop.

What changed everything for me wasn’t confidence.
It was allowing myself to be seen before I felt ready.

To play without knowing what would happen.
To trust the moment.
To trust what moves through me.

And yes… I didn’t do that alone.

There were people who saw me when I couldn’t fully see myself.

Who held space for me until I could step into it on my own.

That’s something we often overlook:

You don’t need someone to walk the path for you.
But sometimes you need someone who reminds you that you can.

Because in the end, life doesn’t wait for you to feel ready.

It opens doors.

And you get to decide…

Do you walk through them, or do you stay where it feels safe?

You don’t always know what it will become…
but you feel when to say yes.

What you see here wasn’t a plan.
It was a series of moments where I chose to stay open.

Saying yes to people I didn’t know.
Saying yes to playing music in completely new spaces.
Saying yes before I even understood where it could lead.

From my first retreat moments with music…
to spontaneous street sessions with strangers…
to deep, grounding drum circles…
to being invited into my first sound healing space…

None of this was “the goal”.

But step by step, something revealed itself.

Not because I forced it.
But because I stayed curious.
Because I allowed life to surprise me.

And only when looking back it makes sense:
This was the path that led me into sound healing.

Most people wait until they feel ready.
Or until they know exactly where something will lead.

But that clarity often comes after you move.

If you feel a pull… follow it.
Even if it doesn’t fit into your current identity.
Even if it doesn’t make sense yet.

This is exactly the space where real transformation begins.
In music. In life. And also in coaching.

Most people who fall in love with the Handpan never imagine this…

They play at home.
Maybe record a few videos.
Maybe dream about playing outside one day.

Five years ago I touched a Handpan for the first time.

I had no plan.
No audience.
No idea where this instrument would take me.

What followed was a journey I could never have designed.

Playing on the street for strangers.
Meeting people who opened unexpected doors.
Sleeping in parks and under bridges some nights.
Sometimes celebrating with a full wallet after a single street session.

One evening I played outside a Hang Massive concert and earned two tickets in 30 minutes as a newbie.

My first paid stage appearance.
My first sound healing.
My first audience of 150 people.

Step by step the street became a classroom.

Five years later I’m sitting here on Madeira.
Teaching Handpan.
Sharing sound healing.
Building a life around the instrument that once felt like a crazy dream.

This video shows a few moments of that journey.

Not because my path is special.

But because many musicians feel the same call…
and don’t know where the path could lead.

If you feel that spark when you touch the Handpan, you’re not alone.

Sometimes one instrument can quietly change the direction of an entire life.

Just as it did with me.

Sometimes I just take the handpan while watching TV and repeat some patterns up and down to get familiar with the movements so my body remembers them no matter what is happening around me.

Some players easily get distracted if they lose their connection with themselves while playing handpan and therefore hide – losing connection with their audience.

Hiding is avoidance, and that preserves the problem.

When I started to play the handpan I literally practiced on the streets 2 weeks later for half a year. That gave me deep confidence that I can keep my connection no matter how people react on me or what happens around me.

This is just practice, no rocket science.

And you can do it as well. Keep going.

Your playing is priceless.
Only you can do it as you do it.

Last Friday I unexpectedly had some extra handpan time when an online appointment got cancelled.

So I grabbed my handpan, set up the camera and just kept playing.

While playing I caught myself thinking about something I notice quite often.

There are so many amazing handpan players out there. Incredible musicians. But many of them look very serious while playing. Almost disconnected from everything around them.

And I’m not judging that. Everyone is different and that’s totally fine.

But I’ve noticed that it makes a huge difference when someone occasionally laughs, shows emotions or simply looks into the camera and connects with the people who are listening.

Some musicians hide their eyes under caps, hoodies or even behind masks, rarely looking up, almost as if the camera was something to avoid.

I used to do exactly the same when I was playing drums.

Until someone once told me:
“You always look so serious while playing.”

That made me think. 🤔

So I started practicing something that felt really strange at first: playing and smiling into the camera while recording myself.

Over time something shifted. Not just in how I played, but in how I related to the audience and to myself.

Because people don’t only listen to music.
They feel the person who is playing it.

Music is not just about the show.
And it’s not just about disappearing into the music either.

It’s both.

It’s about staying connected to yourself while inviting people into your world at the same time.

That’s where the real magic happens.

Here's just another of these improvised sunset lives that I do every now and then to let my energies flow and follow my curiosity... 😇

Today I've picked up a new percussive finger snipping technique that I learnt from a banjo player that just joined my last workshop today.

One of the main lessons today was that I am actually memorizing movements and the balanced left-right turning of my hand like a ship skipping from one side to the other when the waves keep gently shaking it... 🌊

Playing the handpan and making music in general for me is more a way of intuitively expressing yourself and following your childish and innocent curiosity instead of replicating what someone else is doing.

So better #justfuckinbeurself instead of copying others or trying to be someone else.

You are unique, special and exactly right as you are! Including all fuck-ups, mistakes and imperfections...

This is what my inner flame 🔥 is burning for... 🪘🥁🎶

Music! Beats! Drums! Following the flow of rhythm! 🌊

Before this intense drumming night on the beach I did a deep inner healing journey in a quantum healing hypnosis session with @healershealingjourney.zu which was taking me back to a time in my previous life where I was stuck in myself. 🏰⚔️🛡️

I was witnessing myself being defeated as a wisdom keeper in a burnt down castle. I was starving and slowly dying after a brutal robbery of all it's treasures. 💰💎

But what I did not realize is that it was ME what the they were looking for coz I am carrying the wisdom inside of myself. The magic of my hands that are doing what they are doing when playing the handpan and percussion. 🥰

So never forget that YOU are the magic 🪄 - YOU carry the wisdom in your life inside of yourself! It's not something outside that you need to gain or protect, like financial wealth or a social status. What you have inside is YOUR magic & wisdom, it cannot get stolen. But you need to use it wisely and show your inner light to the world! 🔥

A musical story about growing into your own superpower...

This melody is haunting me for a while and was flowing so much up and down. Endlessly. I played it multiple times a day.

Until I decided tonight that I am going to play it live and tell a story to it. The story of how I grew into my power on the handpan and how far I came.

But as live is live I made so many mistakes that it became more like a judgemental observation of my mind. Not to fall victim of my upcoming anger and the thought of not being good enough.

My very first idea was to literally tell the story verbally while I am playing but this soon showed to fail due to my still limited capability of playing and talking intuitively at the same time.

But that's my dream, to be able to do both simultaneously. As I am also a dedicated verbal and written storyteller, combining both together just like a singer/songwriter is so much calling me.

Next level.

Acceptance. Being grateful for what I have already achieved. Unbelievable 2 years ago. And now here I am.

Learning to fly. Growing in my power.
